He is an Italian entrepreneur and consultant with over 18 years of experience. Marcello graduated from PRI Australia in permaculture and specializes in lean farming, project management, IT technology implementation, regenerative agronomic techniques, commercial vegetable production on market gardening, business design and sustainable farm design.
Advertising and Marketing
Marcello graduates in 2006 as a European Advertising Graphics Technician. Subsequently, he obtaines the title of Web Architect and Designer.
In 2007, he founds the communication agency Maru Arts, where he works on marketing, print, and web design projects until 2011. He continues to work as a freelancer until today.
Agriculture in Australia
From 2011, in response to the urgent climate crisis and driven by the desire to start a farming business, Marcello moves to Australia, where he begin to studying natural farming and working on several farms. Throughout this period Marcello has the opportunity to study and learn different processing techniques and their strengths and weaknesses.
In 2012 he graduates as a Permaculture Designer from The Permaculture Research Institute of Australia.
That same year Marcello collaborates alongside Geoff Lawton, Paul Taylor and Graham Brookman in designing farms.
Agriculture in Italy - Maso Zepp
Marcello decides to return to Italy and settles in the Alpine region of Trentino. In 2014, he establishes his own certified organic farm, named Maso Zepp. By the end of the year, he obtains the qualification of Educational Farm Tutor from the Autonomous Province of Trento, necessary for conducting training services.
In the following years, Marcello works intensively to expand the farm, focusing on continuous research and development of regenerative agricultural techniques.
In 2017, Marcello obtains the national patent for Professional Agricultural Entrepreneur. The uniqueness of the adopted operations and the achieved results attract the first farmers to Maso Zepp.
At the beginning of 2018, he introduces the first Community Supported Agriculture (C.S.A.) business model in the regional territory. He invests in door-to-door delivery service and digitization of shopping and the supply chain.
Consulting services
In 2018, Marcello decided to specialize as a consultant, undertaking a business coaching program with Alkyma.
The following year, he was appointed by CIA Agriverde as a lecturer to conduct professional courses for farmers in Trentino.
In 2020, he expands the cultivated area and consolidates Lean production within the farm. This choice brings many benefits in terms of functionality, timing, and waste reduction.
In 2021, Marcello begins collaborating as a consultant with Bolzano Messe Expo for the production of the Direttissima exhibition.
Maso Zepp farm achieves the production of over 60 horticultural crops in an alpine climate.
The year 2022 saw Marcello struck by a serious family tragedy that forces him to rethink the entire business farm structure. This compels Marcello to invest more time and effort in consulting services. He expands training courses for agricultural entrepreneurs and specializes in business design and mentoring.
In 2023, Marcello surpasses 4,000 enrollees in his courses and over 50 agricultural businesses initiated through consultancy, since the beginning of the first training and consulting activities.
A consulting firm - Farm Advice
In 2024, Marcello launched the startup Farm Advice. The company offers professional consulting and training to farm businesses and entrepreneurs. Farm Advice operates in several countries and incorporates all of Marcello's experience gained over the years and the partnership with an ever-expanding certified international team.
The official launch is scheduled for mid-2024.
